Wrongful Termination Case - 4 million dollar award |
|
Attorney Jeff Bagnell of Westport, CT won a $4 million dollar jury verdict in the case of Terry Tucker vs. New Haven Register, a wrongful termination case recently tried in U.S. District Court in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The jury found that his client had been fired two days after expressing reluctance to testify in defense of her employer in a sexual harassment case brought by a co-worker. The jury found for her on all counts and awarded $3 million in punitive damages, $1 million in compensatory damages, and economic damages to be determined by the court. Attorney Bagnell stated that a turning point in the trial occurred when the CEO started to laugh on the stand during cross-examination. “The jury did not seem to be laughing with him,” Bagnell said. Jury Solutions provided an Early Jury attitudinal survey and assisted during the jury selection. “Thank you so much for your help in this case. You have a remarkable ability to cut through side issues and highlight the ones a real jury considers most important. I would not consider trying a case of any significance without consulting you first. Your insights during jury selection in this case were invaluable to me.” Attorney Jeff Bagnell, Westport, CT.
